Getting to know the Comox Valley

Get to know the Comox Valley and its Real Estate:
Zone 2 of the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board is the Comox Valley, which stretches 50 km (30 miles) along the coast from Fanny Bay (home of the world famous Fanny Bay Oysters) to the sandy shores of Saratoga Beach. It has a total population of over 60,000.
Getting to the Comox Valley is easier than ever with direct flights to the newly expanded Comox Valley Airport (YQQ).
Zone 2 is made up of the communities of Courtenay, Comox and Cumberland and the surrounding Regional District rural areas. These communities are within 20 minutes of each other.
Courtenay (pop.21,800) is the urban and cultural hub of the Comox Valley. Located along the Courtenay River in the heart of farming land, Courtenay is a bustling metropolis with galleries, theatres, shops and restaurants. Mount Washington Ski Resort is also in this Zone.
The Town of Comox (pop.12,800) has recently undergone a downtown revitalization project enhancing the historic flavour of the seaside community. At the heart of Comox is the Fisherman's Wharf. Comox is also home to great seaside shops and pubs, art galleries, two golf courses, the Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park and Canadian Forces base, 19 Wing Comox.
The Village of Cumberland (pop.2,800) in the foothills of Strathcona Park draws visitors with its fascinating coal mining history.
In the North end of Zone 2: farms and forests of Merville, Black Creek and Saratoga Beach. To the south: the tiny seaside communities of Royston, Union Bay and Fanny Bay.
